Service Changes: 30 May 2017
From Tuesday 30th May 2017 we are pleased to announce some improvements to our network. Route 87 between Brightlingsea and Colchester will operate to a new timetable following customer research and to improve punctuality. New route X76 will operate between Clacton and Colchester six days a week, up to every 30 minutes.
Brightlingsea - Wivenhoe - University - Colchester
Following customer research route 87 will be retimed and rerouted to improve punctuality and reliability. Due to congestion in the area the service will not continue beyond Colchester town centre to North Station and Asda; it will continue to North Station on Sundays & Bank Holidays though.
The 2306 from Colchester High Street will not start from Head Street, but instead from Colchester North Station at 2259.
***Update 22/5/17*** The 2205 87 from Brightlingsea (Victoria Place) will run 5 minutes earlier and continue to Colchester North Station to provide a connection to the last train to London.
Don't forget we now offer reduced monthly tickets and new 10 trip tickets, these can be bought on the bus from your driver with cash.
Jaywick - Clacton - Brook Retail Park
New service X76 between Colchester and Clacton will be extended to Jaywick during Monday to Friday evenings and all day Saturdays. Through tickets will be available to Colchester throughout the day, simply change bus in Clacton to continue your journey.
***Update 22/5/17*** Because of problems with overhanging trees in Millers Barn Road and Park Square route X76 (which uses double-deckers) will not be able to serve bus stops in these roads until the trees are cut. The bus will start at the Three Jays instead and operate via Crossways to resume the normal route. This will not affect route 130 which will operate as normal.
***Special offer*** X76 – all rides will be just £1 in the first week 30th May to 3rd June. Just the ticket for a visit to the seaside or the chance to explore what Colchester has to offer.
