We are pleased to announce we are operating a special up to hourly X76 Clacton-Colchester timetable using two Volvo B10M coaches. These coaches have given good service to Hedingham over the years but are due to be withdrawn in 2018 so we felt we should mark their withdrawal with a running day. No fares will be charged on the day but if you want to make a donation to SSAFA charity then there will be donation boxes on the coaches.
Since being established Hedingham has operated a number of coaches including on Bedford, Leyland, AEC, Bova and Volvo chassis. The coaches currently operated are Plaxton Premiere 320 bodied Volvo B10Ms which are now over 20 years old. When bought they were used on excursions and private hire work, but are now mainly used on local home to school contracts for Essex County Council. The two coaches operating today are S290/1 TVW which were purchased new by Hedingham in 1998.
Please note: This is a one-off timetable journey for a special Good Friday 2018 and is not the regular timetable. Please be aware as we are operating coaches on the X76 on Good Friday buggies will need to be collapsed and put in the side locker by the driver. Wheelchairs will also need to be folded and stowed in the side locker by the driver. Please note First Essex will operate their usual Bank Holiday timetable on route 76 with fully accessible buses.
All of the proceeds from the running of the X76 Good Friday special will be going to Hedingham’s charity of the year. This Charity has been chosen together by all of the drivers and supervisors across the Hedingham depots.
